October 2023

AFNAD members David Poulton, Alice Tamang, Allan Sarago-Ah Kee and Jenna Hawes were invited to participate in the Lowy Institute’s 2023 Aus-PNG Emerging Leaders Dialogue in Gimuy (Cairns), along with 16 other delegates from across Australia and Papua New Guinea.

The dialogue examined the theme of First Nations Foreign Policy and what it means for Australia-Papua New Guinea relations through a broad range of discussions across economic development, policy, climate change, defence, sport, education, health, arts, and media. Moving forward, our collaboration will produce an outcomes paper that will be presented to the Foreign Minsters of Australia and Papua New Guinea. Find out more here.
